Wedding and event drone filming: the opening shot that shows the scale of the day
Your film opens on the shot no ground camera can take: the whole venue and your guests. The drone stays grounded during the vows and the speeches.
On the ground, your photographer captures faces, glances and details. One shot is almost always missing: the one showing the estate, the crowd and the scale of the day. That shot opens the film or becomes the album cover.
Aerial filming complements the photographer and videographer you have already booked. The running order is coordinated with them so the drone never enters their frame. The raw footage can be passed to them directly.
Your budget carries no risk: if no flight is possible, the aerial service is not charged. Flights are carried out by a DGTA-certified remote pilot under the EASA framework, with €1.6M professional liability cover. Many venues require those guarantees before allowing a drone on site.
What aerial filming adds to your event
- 01
An opening shot
The castle, estate or site filmed on approach gives the scale of the venue in seconds. It is almost always the first image of the film.
- 02
The whole crowd in one frame
For a festival, a concert or a race, a wide shot documents attendance. It then serves as evidence for your sponsors.
- 03
The moments when everyone gathers
Guests leaving the ceremony, a group photograph, fireworks: seen from above, these moments change scale.
- 04
A drone videographer in addition
The running order is coordinated with your photographer and videographer. The aerial footage joins their edit or forms a short film of its own.
- 05
A discreet presence
Short flights, a respectful distance, and the drone grounded during the vows and speeches. Your guests follow the day, not the drone.
- 06
Footage you can reuse
Teaser, sponsor deck, social media, website: the footage from one edition serves the next. Commercial distribution rights are included.
What this changes for youFrom the ground, each shot shows part of the scene. From the air, one shot shows the whole venue and places everything else.
How a wedding or event shoot works
- 1
Agreeing the running order
One call is enough to set the venue, the timings, the moments to cover and the moments without flight. Your photographer and videographer are contacted if you wish.
- 2
Site survey and authorisations
The flight zone is checked and Skeyes authorisation requested where the airspace requires it. Some estates, parks and municipalities apply their own rules, which are checked before the date.
- 3
Short flights at agreed slots
The drone takes off at the agreed slots, then returns to the ground. In strong wind or rain, we stay on site and use the clear spells. On request, a second operator runs the ground camera during the flight passes.
- 4
Post-production and delivery
Aerial photographs are handed over on site and the edited video follows within 3 to 5 working days. The raw footage can also be sent to your videographer.
What this changes for youFlight slots are fixed against the programme before the date. The drone therefore never has to improvise during a moment that matters.
Deliverables and turnaround
You receive the edited, colour-graded aerial sequences, along with aerial photographs when the quote provides for them. The photographs are handed over on site and the video follows within 3 to 5 working days.
One revision is included, along with commercial distribution rights. An organiser or a company can therefore reuse the footage in its own communication.
If the weather or an on-site restriction rules out every flight, the aerial service is not charged. For a peak-season wedding, book your date several weeks in advance.

Brussels
Coverage area: Brussels, Belgium and Europe on request
Based in Brussels, DroneBXL covers all 19 Brussels municipalities, Walloon Brabant and Flemish Brabant. The rest of Wallonia and Flanders is covered, as is the rest of Europe on request. Beyond 50 km, travel costs are stated in the quote. Because of the airport, Brussels sits almost entirely in controlled airspace, and Skeyes authorisation is handled for you. Parks, listed estates and areas near sensitive sites sometimes add restrictions of their own. Send the address in your first message and feasibility is checked before you commit.
FAQ
Common questions before booking a date
How much does a wedding drone cost?
The fee depends on time on site and the deliverables selected. Send the date and the venue, and the free quote follows within 24 hours.
Is the drone noisy during the ceremony?
A drone can be heard, so flights are short and kept at a distance. It stays grounded during the vows and the speeches.
What happens if it rains on the wedding day?
The drone does not fly in rain or strong wind, but we stay on site to use the clear spells. If no flight takes place, the aerial service is not charged.
Do you work with our photographer and videographer?
Yes, that is the most common arrangement. The running order is agreed with them beforehand, and the aerial footage can be passed on for their edit.
